A Message from the Executive Director

Thank
you for visiting the Alabama Fire College and Personnel Standards Commission
website. It is our mission to prepare Alabama’s firefighters and first
responders to protect our communities from the loss of life and property. We
accomplish this mission through the development and delivery of excellent
training courses and by administering the process of fire service certification
in the State of Alabama. We are also proud to provide our training and
certification services to private industry and to U. S. Department of Defense
firefighting forces located at military installations around the world.
Partnerships are a critical component to our success. We are
currently building new bridges to other state and local agencies and to the
private sector that will make our training efforts more successful and more
valuable to Alabama’s first responders. These partnerships also help us to
operate more efficiently and to deliver a higher level of service than ever
before.
This is a time of great change for Alabama and the fire
protection agencies that serve our state. Our staff is committed to meeting the
needs of Alabama’s fire service in new ways, with better delivery models and
enhanced attention to customer service. Please tell us how we are doing and how
