Rescue Technician: Confined Space

Designed for both fire department personnel and private industry, this course provides responders with a comprehensive understanding of accidents involving a confined space. This course teaches the responder how to recognize the hazard, access the victim, stabilize the victim and the proper procedures for retrieval. Practical and classroom sessions focus on the three primary hazards associated with confined space rescue: physical, atmospheric, and physiological. Realistic training evolutions using the latest in equipment and techniques ensure student retention of this material.

Special Equipment - Coveralls, SCBA, Hard Hat, PASS device, Gloves, and Knee pads & elbow pads (optional)

Physical Requirements - This is a very physically demanding course which requires student to be in good physical condition.

  • Certified Volunteer Firefighter or Certified Firefighter I or documented proof of Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operational training, Introduction to Technical Rescue, completion of EMT Basic course.
