The Alabama Public Records Law,
codified in Chapter 12 of Title 36 of the Code of
Alabama 1975 provides that every citizen has a right to inspect and take a copy
of any public writing of this state, except as otherwise expressly provided by
statute.
This access is intended to afford
full and detailed information in reference to the activities or business
required to be done or carried on by the public officials of the State of
Alabama.
While all documents are made
available to the public, the Commission makes available electronically the
certification records of Alabama fire service personnel as a convenience, and to
ease the burden on those staff acting as custodians of the records.
